About
HistoryVinCars helps people who buy cars from US auctions understand what they are buying — from anywhere in the world.
Our archive
We keep our own archive of vehicles offered at auto auctions in the United States: auction records, photos, damage, condition and odometer readings. You can look up any VIN or lot number for free.
Our report
The full HistoryVinCars report brings together everything we hold for a VIN and adds public US government data: factory specification and safety equipment (NHTSA vPIC), recall campaigns and owner complaints (NHTSA), crash test ratings (NCAP) and fuel economy (EPA). On top of that we compute an odometer check, a market value from comparable auction records and our own risk score.
What we are not
HistoryVinCars is an independent service. We are not affiliated with any auto auction, Carfax, AutoCheck, NHTSA or EPA, and our reports are not Carfax or AutoCheck reports.
